I want to thank all of you that have come to conferences thus far. I have such a great time sharing how well your children are doing in fourth grade and the growth I seen occur already this school year. Please know that if after conferences you have a question, need, or want I am always available to you. You are more than welcome to email, call, or simply write me note at any time throughout the school year.

Just a reminder that conferences continue this week. I will be meeting with parents on Monday and Wednesday evening. Please let me know if you need to change your time or have any questions before your conference.

In class we have been working diligently on writing our immigrant narrative. The children are really working well to incorporate the information they have learned about immigration, Ellis Island, and their home countries. Students are also beginning to increase their vocabulary. Please help your child to find synonyms on their devices or in the dictionary so they may easily find words to improve the interest level of their writing. This is a skill we have not yet had an opportunity to work on, but many of the children are really interested in increasing vocabulary and word acquisition. I will be working with the students on this area, but have been focused on narrative instruction, and writer’s workshop this week.

I hope you all have a fabulous fall weekend and enjoy your time with you family!
