Today in room 3…9/11/12

Today is a special day in the history of our country. Please take a moment to think about the family members of those that perished on 911 so few years ago.

In class yesterday we began our reading groups. There are five groups and each of them are reading a chapter book that is on their level, according to the individual assessment I did of the students last week. That means that there may be some “vocabulary” words that are challenging, please help your child to learn and understand these words…they are different for individuals. The children will be responsible for reading this book at home and at school. They will read each chapter at least twice. This helps greatly with comprehension and building fluency. Please talk to your child about the book they are reading and ask them questions about the book. You could even read along with them if you had the time!

It is very apparent that the class as a whole is struggling on their addition, subtraction, and multiplication and division math facts. Please spend five minutes on those 4-5 nights a week. There are TONS of fun games at the app store and online to help your child!

As always, I am here if you have ANY questions! Please leave a comment here or email me. The comments are private and come to my email…for my eyes only!

Have a beautiful day!
